Got food here. Hubby and I ordered two different burgers. We could've made better at home. The buns and coleslaw are identical to the ones from countdown. It didn't have bar or restaurant quality. There was nothing special about it.

We visited twice over New Years weekend as one of the only places open to eat. Extremely disappointing and would not visit again 😞 We were in a group of 10 and all meals came out at various times and one meal was forgotten! We forgave as was busy but when we went for lunch a couple of days later the service was even worse ... burgers came without bacon and cheese as advertised and yet again one meal totally forgotten. Spoke to the manager who made the " we are busy " excuse. Not acceptable!

Absolutely would not recommend. Waited nearly 1hour and 30min for our food. Still hadn't received so went to the bar to ask how long it'll take, for the manger of the restaurant to tell someone we were with ( who was a minor) To F off. Multiple people were asking for their money back as the food hadn't come out in a ridiculous amount of time. One of the younger workers had to pull the manger back as he was getting more aggressive towards our group. This is an embarrassment for NZ bars and restaurants. Wouldn't waste your time, do not recommend

Terrible communication and service from staff. The manager was very rude telling us to F off. Only half the food came out at different times, with large gaps. Waited over an hour and asked for refund. Ordered and paid for GF pizza and half an hour of waiting they come out and say they don't have any GF bases after half the food came out. Disappointing. Do not recommend.

Stopped by for lunch. Poor quality of food we ordered burgers which were all supposed to be the same but arrived with of differences between them. Also ordered fried chicken but it turned out to be a salad with small bits of fried chicken in it. I will most likely not return here due to the quality of food served here.
Outside seating was also not adequate, benches with nails sticking out of them and falling apart quite a big health and safety risk for all.

Hopefully this encourages some change.

This is a public bar and I don't think they have accommodation. I went there to meet friends.

Went there for dinner last night. Had pork belly burger. Tasted weird so I didn't eat much. Felt sick after and have spent most of the day finding toilets urgently on my long drive home.

Great bar in town, good atmosphere on a Friday night with karaoke on. Lovely staff.

Went to the Whitianga Hotel for lunch with our friends and the service was very poor! The bartender didn't want to serve us and when our food was ready he didn't bring it out to us like he did with the other tables of people, we had to get it ourselves and by that stage it was cold. I do not recommend going there☹️

We were in town for the weekend. The staff was lovely.. The staff in kitchen was amazing and the food was 10/10 and made outrr love... What made us turn here was the security staff 2x females they mustve known we were out of town and gave us a big wave as we drove past and we were like yup that's the spot let's dine here...
Loved it and had a great time thank u whitianaga hotel will attend here again when we in town
