Lovely place for a meet up lunch midday. Great service and delicious food. Struggled to eat it all so had to stay till we did. Left about 4 hours later lol. Shared lunch rather than a meal. So good. Thank you. Bringing other half to test taste soon

Staff are lovely, very attentive and the service was quick.
The menu is great, some of the mains you can choose the meat, then choose two different sides from a list. Lots of options.
We started with cheesy garlic bread which was great. Then I had the chicken with mushroom sauce, duck fat potatoes and the beetroot salad. The salad was so good!
My husband had the pork belly with duck fat potatoes and ranch slaw.
The pork belly and apple was delicious (I tried a little) and I'm not a huge fan of pork!
At first I thought it might be a bit cosy being next to a decent sized group there for a birthday, but we could easily carry our own conversation.
Absolutely be going back!

The meal came out quick. Nicely presented and was very tasty.

We had the cod and the classic beef burger. Which were both excellent. Since we are locals it's great to have somewhere you can just throw on the jandals and pop around to for dinner and a couple of beers. Very friendly staff. Nice way to have a lovely dinner after a hard days work.

Popped down tonight for a quick snack and a glass. The food was great, and we were waited on by Kalita, who was simply a delight. Nothing was a bother to her, she was an absolute pleasure to deal with. There's no bigger asset to a bar and restaurant then excellent staff. Well done!

What an experience. We arrived at 5.30pm for Dinner no reservation. We were advised there were no tables in the restaurant it was full.
We were invited to a bar table. We accepted and had just sat down when the waitress advised they had found a table for two for us in the restaurant.
We ordered the garlic bread, steaks prawns and scallops, with duck fat potatoes, vegetables, and salad.
Service was quick and efficient. Staff were courteous and very professional.
The food was outstanding. Price a little on the expensive side BUT the flavour of the steaks and the mains was exquisite.
A family restaurant with four tables with children but the staff had them sorted with toys and colouring in to keep them amused.
The kids menu was well considered and the kids were listened too when they ordered.
Smiling happy staff led to a great experience both in food and service.
Looking forward to coming back to try other items on the menu.

Took my Mum here for lunch today. Lovely man showed us to our table and explained everything,he was awesome. Lovely girl came and asked if everything was ok. We had the scallops and the presentation was great. Paid the bill to another lovely girl. Staff were exceptional. We will be going back. And I will be bringing family. Best place I have been to with great service and presentation . Well done Team.

Was only ok - toast with the pate was dry / crumbly - couldn't spread anything on it - replacement bread very dry bordering on stale. Otherwise no problem with meal. Fiona could do with an attitude refresh - quite surly / no smiles - not great for front staff. Will probably go back though

The Two Fat Possums, been many times before, every time the food is amazing! To top it off, the deserts are to die for, sorbet ice cream, cream brûlée, sticky date pudding the list goes on! The toilets were clean, staff friendly and always there when you need them. Service I'd say around about 5 stars. Atmosphere never fails! Do you want to go for a good feed in the Selwyn area? Come Here!

First class dining. Great food, exceptional staff and a really nice atmosphere. Scott was exceptional when assisting my disabled mate with food choice. Highly recommend.

Food was great. Service was below average. The waitress forgot one order. Had to ask multiple times for water before we received it. 20 minutes for two drinks and then it was another 10 minutes before they arrived only because we had asked how far away they were.

Excellent roast meal and blue cod and chips. Meal was hot, plenty of vegetables, roast potatoes, pumpkin and topped off with yorkshire pud. Would recommend asking for xtra gravy. Blue Cod was good, excellent batter, not greasy, could have been fresher but it was Sunday. Some might not like dressing on the salad but I enjoyed it.

Nice and quiet atmosphere great food, different areas to sit in indoor and outdoor. Great menu simple but easy to choose from.
Great selection of beer on tap l, good wine too.. Friendly country people that sevres you.
