Called in for meal and place was full but some friendly locals selling raffles made room and welcomed us to their tables which was fantastic, we had really nice meal and staff were very friendly and helpful 😊.... whole family enjoyed themselves.

Great casual country bar/restaurant. Lively atmosphere on Friday night when we went. My partner got fish and chips and said it's pretty good. I loved the fireplace inside - kept us nice and warm!

Great country style/sport bar set up. Had some great lamb soup(x3) pizza(x2) and beer(x3). Had to ask about hot sauce also for spoons for soup. This have to come with the menu which that's I pay $156

Warning: if you visit Top Hut Bar & Bistro on your first night in Twizel.....you won't go anywhere else the rest of your stay ! As soon as you enter the outdoor area you will be impressed with the style. Indoors, the rustic meets funk vibe, will quickly put you at ease to the night you won't regret or forget, enjoying engaging staff, and the yummiest feed south of Christchurch. The kind of bar everyone wishes it was their local !

Just enjoyed a beautiful rib eye steak after spending the day at Mount Cook. The service was 10/10. Lana was absolutely amazing, so warm & friendly & is exceptional at helping fussy diners like my sister! 🤣 Thanks guys, we will be back!

As a part of Sperm Donation World tour of New Zealand I arrive in Twizel, and the All Blacks were due to play, found this gem good vibe and very busy.

Friendly banter and a genuine chat. The locals love seeing travellers and are open to a laugh, some advice and a good chat. Really enjoyed the visit.

Good portions were good, pricing was a little high but for us, the service made up for it.

Seemed to be the only eatery open on a Monday night in Twizel, the place was busy, but a great atmosphere and great food, didn't have to wait too long, enjoyed beverages before our meals were ready. Would recommend.

Haven't been to a bar in years but we enjoyed the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed a superb meal, a few drinks, didn't cost a fortune, we had a great night. Will certainly be back when back in Twizel.

Great food options on the specials menu at Top Hut Bar & Bistro last night. The waitress Shannon or Sharon (we forgot her name) was the only front of house staff member when we arrived. She was friendly and efficient and noted they were short staffed upon entry but she served us and brought out the meals promptly and we were very impressed with her fabulous service!

Ordered creamy salmon pasta. The dish arrived and I found one very small flake of salmon in the whole dish. I hate complaining but in this case I asked the staff member if I could get some salmon in the dish. The waiter took the dish back to the kitchen then returned and left it in front of me with no word of apology. I had salmon in the dish, great! Everyone else's food was fine. When I paid there was a misc $5 charge which I queried. When the staff member asked the waiter said I needed to pay $5 extra for the salmon. I refused - it was advertised as salmon pasta so I expected salmon in it. The waiter was rude and then argued with me while I went to pay. I believe he was also the manager. Bad choice for a manger. Don't go here if you want good service and to be treated respectfully.

The restaurant is a great layout with plenty of tables and space between them. The decor, fun and themed without being cheesey.

The time frame for food to come out was good (although it was very quiet when we were there) but in all honesty, the mains were kind of flavourless. One being Dixie Chicken and the other being Lamb Shanks (please excuse the poor photo).
Huge portions but lacking flavour.

Great facility and location but lacking in culinary flair.
