Went for dinner as nothing open in Waikawa. Great relaxed rural atmosphere. Great food, big plates, friendly staff.

Very unwelcome service, we were obviously not welcome.
Plus the coffee they serve is abominable, paying $4 for soluble coffee is insulting.
In addition we waited 10min our coffee to realize that it was just sitting on the counter, without anyone bringing it to us.

Quiet, simple food selection available, lovely helpful staff. Typical small town tavern with interesting locals making the atmosphere.

Was here only to grab some takeaway food for our trip. The place is quite nice and clean, and the food price is really affordable. But don't expect much about the taste and the quantity, let say "cheap price, cheap taste you got"
We order pizza and chicken nugget, guess what? we got only 3pcs of the nugget.. 😬😬
And for the pizza,,, well sorry can't even describe it... :-(
If there is any other cafe or restaurant around this area, we definitely not buying from here..

Great place to power up for the night $10..free without power.. A night off cooking and the seafood chowder was great.. Washing machine and dryer..

Thoroughly enjoyed a quiet one with my family on our way around the Catlins on holiday...

Generous blue cod, chips and salad washed down with a beer outside on the deck. Lovely evening followed by a walk on the reserve to see the seals.
