This meal kept me going on my 3 day Kepler track, as I kept thinking about the Fjordlands venison which was cooked perfectly, and green lipped mussels. Also had pavlova for the first time and very much enjoyed it. Our server was extremely warm and gave excellent recommendations, especially with the great selection of local drafts. Loved the vibe that brings locals and out-of-towners together.

Nice food with generous serving. The seafood chowder was filling on its own. Steak tasted good with nice salad. Worth a try when in Te Anau.

Great place to have lunch or dinner while you are in Te Anau. We had steak, chicken salad, fish and chips and a few beers. Everything was lovely and the staff was really friendly.

We came here mid-afternoon when other places in Te Anau weren't yet serving. It was during school holidays, so there was a crowd of tourists all wanting service. The server had to keep a hundred balls in the air all at once, but she did a terrific job of it and kept a smile on her face throughout. We had a cheeseburger with bacon, onion rings, and a side salad, then we followed it with hot chocolate mud cake with ice cream covered with fudge sauce. We were so impressed that we came back 2 days later and had Loaded Nachos with chili and beans. Great Hazed and Confused IPAs accompanied both meals. We really enjoyed both times and would come again often if we lived in Te Anau.

Venison was delicious, and the sides paired really well with it all. Definitely something I'd travel all the way back to have again!
Everyone else on the table also ordered venison, so I can't comment on the other food, but if what I ordered was an indication of the rest of the menu, the food is fantastic!

5 stars for the prawns, beer, friendly staff and excellent service. Roast of the day is value for money. Would love to return to try the mussels.

We arrived on a really busy night with no booking & were advised we could wait at the bar for an hour for a table which we were happy to do. After ordering a drink and waiting ~15 mins we had had a table available to us. Staff were all extremely helpful, attentive and accommodating. Food was delicious. Had the steaks which were both flavoursome & cooked well. Then shared pavlova for dessert which was quite nice and a very large service so sharing was a good call. Overall this place has great service, great atmosphere and decent food. Recommend if you're in the area😊(Plenty of gluten free options available).

Had the roast lamb and vegetables and other was very good. They have a wide range of dishes though the lamb offered a good option with the vegetable sides. The lamb was nice and the side vegetables were very good and tasty. Happy to visit again. Overall good value and service.

A fantastic friendly place for lunch and dinner. Customer service was next level, especially from Mel! Great detailed menu options, plenty of choice and generous portion sizes.
So good we went from passing through to coming back again for another meal.

The restaurants and bars in Te Anau are bloody awesome , and The Ranch Bar And Restaurant is no different . We both grabbed a doggy bag each , the amount of food left over after our meal was enough for the next nights dinner . $18 for a roast lamb dinner is quite uncommon now aday . It was absolutely packed at 6pm, now that speaks volumes about the restaurant . Got a upstairs bar and band on selected dates . I forgot to take photo's night before so next morning was all good .

Happy we stopped by. Plan to have a bite. Turned out to be great meals. Wonderful and fascinating flavors. From the mussels, loaded chips, venison, blue cod, lamb shanks, and salmon. With home made cheese cake and pecan pie for finale. Mwah!
The service, amazing!

The atmosphere was perfect for a family night out. The signature venison was cooked TO PERFECTION! Roast lamb that melted in your mouth and our 15 year old make short work of a large stack of succulent pork ribs topped off with a lemon meringue pie and pavlova that was so light they literally dissolved in your mouth. Best of all was our first class hostess Mel H. Gold standard service, great banter and she let me shamelessly rip her country playlist on to my Spotify [haha thanks :)]
