Great atmosphere, service good although would have appreciated someone checking our meals were okay. They weren't, most inedible meal. Unpeeled dirty carrots, stringy beans, yellow broccoli, lumpy mash potatoes and overcooked salmon. Hubby's pork belly was nice but once again, disgusting veg and overly strong gravy. $82 for both meals and 2 soft drinks. We were offered a "small discount" when we complained. We paid the full price but certainly won't go back. Very disappointing as it's a treat to go out for a meal and diners deserve better.

Booked a table to celebrate with our work colleagues after a big few weeks on the road. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the service, no drink orders were offered to two people at our table. No water or water glasses on the table, food was not up to servicing standard. Lamb salad had no flavour and the meat was over cooked. Roast with vegetables that were serviced cold and undercooked. Food tasted as though it has been left out of the fridge for too long. Glassware was still dirty with lipstick marks.
We also watched as two staff ignored a customer at the bar waiting to order drinks.

We were seated at very wobbly table for 2 situated right beside the door out to the toilets - which was busy with people using toilets and draughty to the extent I had to eat my meal with my jacket on. There was not much menu selection. I had the fish which was lovely. My husband had steak which was tough and gristly.
We will not be returning to dine here
All in all a really bad dining experience and would not recommend

Stopped in on way back from chch couple of weeks ago. Meals took a while to arrive and didn't appear that busy but most likely due to lack of staff perhaps. The meals were lovely and generous in size which we always like. Staff were also friendly. Will pop in again for an evening meal when passing. Nice clean Bar and atmosphere. Recommend others to try the chicken was delicious!

A must place to dine when in Ashburton. Reasonably priced and great menu.

We enjoyed our dinner experience. I just wish they told us how big the garlic bread was, as it was only two of us eating it. It was a huge loaf that could feed a family. So maybe just for future, if two people ask for garlic bread, maybe tell them it's HUGE! Haha
Apart from that, it was very delicious and I like the style of the restaurant too. Gets my tick! ✅

Last min decision to drop by for lunch pitstop w the kids, service was great, food portion was good. Ordered the ribs - fantastic! the prawn/duck pizza was a hit. Had lattes and chai latte after our meals to prep for the cold weather ahead

Stopped for a meal in transit home. Nice menu selections and a delicious plate of food. Could do with more 0 alcohol options for drivers, but good friendly staff and restaurant space away from the bar was relatively quiet and nicely presented. Will stop again.

Great portion size and a very busy popular local spot for lunch and dinner. Great customer service despite visibly suffering through covid recovery.

We popped in last Sunday for brunch while visiting our in-laws with our toddler and had a lovely meal. The food was absolutely beautiful, every single one of us loved our meals. We were pleasantly surprised at how tasty the children's meal was and at such a good price! Lovely decor (toddler appreciated searching around for ducks while waiting for food) and lovely staff. Will definitely be back for another meal next time we're in Ashburton.

Very fast with food, even though they apologized first to say they were short staffed. I come as part of a group of 15 people. Everyone was impressed.
Meals tasted amazing and were a good size.
Had the fire going, lovely on a cold day.
