Big thumbs up for delicious dinner menu and happy professional service
We were surprised and delighted by the stunning food and service presented by the chef and waiter team for dinner on Saturday at the The Jolly Pub & Kitchen Kapiti.
The drinks menu covered the bases, and the menu offered some very interesting innovation:
Some examples:
A starter:
CHILLI AND GARLIC TIGER PRAWNS: Lychee, mint, spring onion, tandoori cauliflower, courgette. ($22.99)
A Burger:
FRIED PORK SOUVLAKI: Yeast bread, lettuce, pickles, nduja labneh, garlic mayo, fries. ($25.99)
A Pizza:
JOLLY LAMB PERI PIZZA: Lamb, tomato base, mozzarella, onion, garlic, coriander, black pepper, capsicum, mayo, peri-peri sauce. ($23.99)
A Main
PAN FRIED MARKET FISH: Celeriac puree, wakame butter, curry leaves, shaved courgette ($36.99)
I had the market fish - a delicious pan-fried fillet of John Dory, accompanied by excellent bits and pieces.
And my wife had the Rack of Lamb - cooked to the perfect pink. We had a fries to share.
We had 2 wines, 1 beer and a rum. Total cost for the meal and drinksexcluding tip given was $131.
More expensive than we had expected before we arrived, but well worth the amazing tastes, and service delivered.
We will be back.
