Cool old hotel/pub little bit dark inside due to lighting but otherwise not bad

Rooms and bathrooms are decent size but has no sink or cooking equipment and the shower leaked and semi flooded the bathroom but other than that I had a good stay

Beautiful old pub. Rooms a big, clean and tidy. Sercure parking and cold beer. Ticks all boxes.

We drop in now and again to have a drink and play the machines. Nice folks who work there..always happy to share the wifi code! Thank you!!!

Yet enjoyed the restaurant & social gathering with family, friends & co-workers. With service in restaurant area, they can struggle with timing & managing of food orders & delivery. Yet the venue is open & welcoming. With another smaller area also for the regulars to drink, eat & be entertained when event are at hand. Watch the game on screen, play on the pool table or try your luck on the pokes. Overall a home atmosphere & friendly staff.

Very out dated, Smells mouldy. Perfect for a place to sleep when your in town..
Cheap vending machine.

Horrible, dirty and run down. Do not stay here - the rooms were filthy, toilets hadn't been cleaned and were covered in poo. No toilet paper. Hair in the shower. Absolute health hazard. Avoid.

Lovely hotel very clean on the main road with lots of shops around and we were very happy that they have a secure car park in a locked up gate. We rented 2 rooms for 8 of us and there were extra beds that we never needed rooms are very big. I would definitely come back and stay thanks Essex arms🤙

Delicious food. Beautiful table set up and experienced, friendly staff. We had a really good night out. 5 star

First time going to The Essex Arms Restaurant, and I was hoping to find a gem in Huntly, but instead we found a pile of rocks - in the form of disappointment.

The family wanted to go out for dinner and they said that it wasn't too bad, the last time they went, so I was eager for some homely-style meals.

It is a cozy restaurant and the staff is nice enough. The waitress plays on her phone at the front counter, but she's quick with her service and has pleasantries down.

Their menu is outdated, but it is an old Pub-Restaurant, so don't expect Wedges and Sour cream and Nachos. It ranges from Mushroom Balls to Mashed Potatoes, with your meat and veggies on the side.

They didn't have Lamb Shanks or any Burgers available on their menu, because of food shortages. There "Weren't enough buns and other people ordered throughout the week." - said the pleasant waitress.

The other things on their menu didn't sound appetising to me anymore, so I ended up buying a meal that I half ate and gave to someone else.

The Strawberry Cheese Cake was good and even though we didn't order it, their Sticky Date Pudding was good too.

I was hoping the food would be better, it was very underwhelming and mid-tier at best. The presentation of their meals look nice, but I won't be sharing any pictures on my Instagram.

They play very loud music that clashes with the music playing in the Pub next door, it felt stressful for me - the song choice, not the noise.

I wouldn't recommend The Essex Arms Restaurant in Huntly, unless you wanted to get drunk and just fill your belly with whatever they can manage to scrap together.

Staff very friendly we had dinner there after funeral

Food is nice and priced well. Preeti and Lani give awesome service. Keep an eye on what you get charged at the bar from other staff for your drinks as the night goes on, because it tends to go up in price unexpectedly. Can't get cash out over the bar for gaming, you get sent to the atm that is available in there but you get charged a fee from it to get cash out.

Service was great here but waited a long time for food. Would give 5 stars if the wait time wasn't as long as it was otherwise neat place. Fettuccine was amazing n also the burger meal
