We didn't stay at the hotel, but ate at the cobb. It use to be one of out fave spot, good Value meals. But since the prices have gone up seems like the quality and sizes of the meals have gone down. Did not enjoy the last steak we had. Probably wouldn't get it again.

While I understand about being busy with a quiz night as I myself work in hospitality, I was both disappointed and left with a bitter taste in mine and my partners mouths. Dry and overcooked Beef Wellington and pork Belly that was more dried chicken in texture and flavor served with cold cold Mash.

Came down to Palmy for a weekend getaway and on the last night this has ruined it completely. Got refunded for one meal thankfully but won't be coming back here ever.

Had better service and meal at McDonald's the next morning. Shouldn't be that way at all.

A great selection of pub meals. Always popular with lots of chatter. Right in the town. Hats off to the staff. Clean and viewing of sport in nearly all directions. Upstairs, downstairs, outside areas. It's on this families list of continued places to dine-in.

Got the 500g rump steak, and added on 2 eggs. It was cooked perfectly, and tasted delicious. Such a Great Price for what you get. We went at 11:30am and it was the perfect time to go because it wasn't busy. It started to get busy just as we were leaving. Great service and atmosphere too.

Enjoyed a nice lunch with the family. Really busy during school holidays. Arrived at 11.30 and almost full already. Food was well priced and plentiful. Parking outside in the street. Guess they couldn't do much to improve the weather!

Came up to Palmerston North for the weekend was impressed with most of the places we went to but this place was awesome. The service, food, portions and prices were outstanding. I do not think I have had such a good meal for the price ever. Highly recommend it

Great value menu, pretty tasty and generous portions for the price. Bummer you can't change your meal in anyway or add things on. Front staff seem busy and rushed. Over all a pretty great dining experience (especially when there's a game on!), and good value for money.
Would also recommend trying out the cocktail menu 😋

I had a basic chicken schnitzel special. Because it was on the printed specials menu, I thought it must turn over regularly and be nice and fresh. My initial reaction was of disappointment because the schnitzel was overcooked on the edges, the plating was a bit basic and there was no mayonnaise on the chicken like the photo on the menu. However, as I ate into the meat, it was lovely and juicy, just the edges were dry. The person who served us at the bar and took our food order couldn't have been more helpful. Didn't catch his name but he had green dye in his hair. I ordered a very weak shandy to drink because it was very hot and I was the driver. The first drink was great but the second tasted bitter. I wondered if I'd received my sister's order which had more beer but she told me that they had run out of lemonade syrup just prior to my order. I wonder if the syrup didn't come through straight away, not sure how it works. Would eat there again. My sister had the sticky beef ribs, more than she could eat, my cousin had a 500 g steak, perfectly medium rare, so no complaints there. Can't see how to allow my phone to add a photo, sorry.

Huge meals. This was the famous $17.50 steak & chips meal. It is a big meal 500g steak & chips with your choice of sauce. Really popular place to come eat, food and drinks always top quality and service is always good. It always tends to be quite busy because of how popular it is, if you don't mind a bit of a wait it's certainly worth it.

Have eaten here before. Food has been lovely. But, last night we waited over 2hours for our meal. Got told it will be a 45minute wait. The waiter came to our table after an hour and a half asking if we had been served yet. The food quality was not as great when I was there last. Definitely will not be back.

I was served by a man named Hunter who was excellent and very friendly and welcoming. When a diabetic man needed sugar Hunter responded decisively and quickly, potentially avoiding a critical medical situation and even potentially saving a life. Due to Hunter's attentive and dedicated service I will continue to frequent the Cobb as long as Hunter and others who share his excellent work ethic and standard of service continue to be employed at this venue.

Food is always great, but the customer is shocking, every time we come in no one says hello, a girl walked straight past me when we walked in, and when I placed my order at the counter one of the girls was talking to her work colleagues, and no one seemed to be interested in serving me! I personally don't enjoy how there's no customer service, you need to go up and place your order, get up to get your own food, and get your own cutlery as well, there's no care! None of the girls smile or say a word to you when they come to clear your plates, no small talk such as "how was everything" or "can I clear your plates for you" just so sad !

Such a surprise. Read some reviews and was a bit apprehensive but my dinner companion had been before so decision made. So glad we did. New employee in training sorted our order quickly and efficiently with a lovely smile. Food arrived in good time and the servings were huge. So big in fact ended up taking a doggy bag home because the pork was cooked perfectly. Thank you for a lovely experience. Heres a hint. If the establishment is busy at 6pm then it will usually be nice.

We go to The Cobb quite frequently for dinners! Can never complain about the food, especially for the price you pay! Most staff super nice, a couple could improve their customer service & at least look like they want to be there.

Lunch meal. The meal was excellent & big for the price. We went during UFC Sunday so the place was quite full but the service was excellent and the meals enjoyed by all. Even the kids liked there meals which was/is a bonus

2nd time popping in for a meal (not staying in room!) Food excellent value for money. They have a confident and good way. And they are very popular!! So popular, it is almost annoying, and they have a different way of serving: Queue, and when you get to the front, order your current and next drink with your food, because if your beer gets finished while eating, you do the long queue again for the refill. Parking gets you a little bit nervous, but on my two trips here so far it had been okay. Will be a regular.

Well once again the steak lunch was a hit omg it is not just good it was amazing the meat was so nice and cooked just how I like it. Now I would say they were very busy and the food took some time as in 35 -45mins but we were warned it would take that long. Team champion weekend in p.nth so all good. Nice to see so busy and pleased the food was still amazing.
