We had a wonderful experience at the Fishing Club today. Absolutely swamped with a surprise cruise ship of 2,800 people landing without warning and the team were outstanding. 6 stars to the kitchen team for sending out great quality meals when buried in demanding tourists.
Thank you for a great experience, you guys certainly made Gidborne memorable for us.

Had a wonderful dinner,last night No complaints there. Bar staff were all friendly and helpful service fantastic! all around. Only thing i wish that there was aircon or commercial fans😁 it would be top notch! Other than that? It was lovely. Thank you Tatapouri Fishing Club and staff.😊

So glad we popped in for coffee. Met a kind gentleman Mr Tony T who offered to host us without having a membership. A great place to hang out. Good food, good people and a warm atmosphere.

If it wasnt for the company, I would have marked 1 star. Had the $22 buffet and was not worth it at all. The carvery was mean, more vege than meat. When you want people to have something nice to say, send them away with more rather than less

What a lovely afternoon. Bar staff of 3 women were so lovely and friendly and helpful. Great food, like really great. Yummo. Accommodate smokers too. Highly recommend.

If I am looking for a good hearty feed at great prices, local club bars and restaurants are always my go to.
And this one....woah! Amazing!
I was catching up with a cousin who I hadn't seen for some time, and she mentioned that she was a member here so off we go!
We all started with Coffee, and this was perfect, the coffee was delicious and came to our table very quicky.
We then ordered our food, and as you can imagine, the food had a very oceanic flair! And it looked amazing.
There is a delicious array of seafood options, and I had to try a few of them so I ordered the Seafood Chowder and a piece of Fresh Fish which was Terakihi. The other diners ordered the Beef Cheeks, the grilled fish and chips and a HamBurger.
My chowder was perfect (with the obligatory slice of garlic bread on the side!) It was loaded with fresh seafood, and was a good consistency and a deep, rich flavour.
The beef cheeks were cooked perfectly, melting under the fork, and accompanied with a delicious mash and some fresh vegetables.
The fish was so fresh, you could tell that it was caught that day, had a great flavour and texture.
Thank you to the entire team for an amazing afternoon meal!
