Prime rib and lamb are amazing! Atmosphere is very nice and cozy. One thing that was disappointed is that baby high chair had to be washed after every use.

Absolutely the Best Steak in town! We went to Friday night Steak night and had the eye fillet with roast potatoes and prawns on the side, they were the biggest yummiest prawns I've had in a very long time! Absolutely worth every cent, all of the food was amazing and absolutely delicious! I Highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Was a favourite place to visit, but this visit I was let down considerably by the quality of the steak and surprised to be handed grease/oil stained menus. Our whole table received dry over cooked meals and the Gratin was cold in the middle. I would like to think this was a blip on the grand scale as this has historically always been a very good reliable experience. Our table service however was faultless.

The prices will get you good, quality food, but not the level of service or professionalism of an expensive steak house. The tables and chairs are old and dated. The decor is fine but feels cheap. Waitresses do not know who ordered what. Plates served from the head of the table, and not to individuals. No enquiring if the food is ok. No manager touch point. Drinks are not offered frequently. There is also an out of place brightly lit bar with one run down pool table without chalk and gambling machines. Do not go here expecting to visit fine dining.

Good local spot for lunch especially if your going for steak. Yummy starters and cocktails too. Pasta was nice however found a hair which was passed off as a mushroom or mussel hair but resolved by a fresh meal and discount. A lil spendy for lunch but good food and atmosphere, service could be improved.

Had family birthday dinner here during the festive season - xmas. Food is decent. Wish there was red wine jus for steak sauce options. ♥️

Really loved the meal here - the eye filet was cooked to a medium rare and the calamari was delicious also.

I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes and all in all was all pretty yum! I got the lamb myself and it was all delicious and the mash under it was very nice too. Onion rings were amazing, salt and pepper squid was great, my friend got the sliders and enjoyed those. We got jalapeño poppers too but they weren't that great, wasn't what I was expecting. The sticky date pudding was yum and the cheese cake was probably the nicest I've ever eaten, YUM!

I came here with my family on Friday. We had a lot of steaks with different cuts: t bone, sirloin, scotch fillet. And we also ordered not steak dishes: duck pappardelle and pork ribs. All and all, the steaks were just ok. I thought the best cooked was the scotch fillet because it came medium rare. The other two steaks were closer to medium or medium done, which weren't great to be enjoyed. I absolutely love the bake loaf starter though and the pork ribs weren't half bad. Giving this place a three star because it's a steakhouse and for a steakhouse, their steak should be perfect.

All right, here I go.. Walked into the welcoming friendly atmosphere of Smith & Mc Kenzies at Chartwell Hamilton. The vibe is awesome. This is definitely, one of the best Steak eateries establishments I have been too. They also have the non steak menu if you want😏. Side dishes to choose from, so I had seasonal greens, broccoli 🥦 and cauliflower 😋 Yummo. Your pick of sauce/sauces to accompany your meat main. Starter for me was the smoked fish and mussel chowder which had a lightly toasted bread and on the side a wedge of lemon. Now get this, I squeezed some lemon onto a portion of the chowder and guess what? Phenomenal to my taste buds. My daughter cannot wait to come try it. Also as a starter had the chicken cabbage dumplings ?-3. My thing man. Sitting in soya sauce garnished with crisp slices of heaven.😇 Waiting staff totally awesome and ensuring my comforts were met, they rock. Attentive, friendly and so restful. As I dined alone, I had a very special table away from the many patrons, yet still able to enjoy the ambience of it all. Chat with other dinners, you know what I'm talking about.. The happy families, the friends dinning together after work, the group function up stairs, the all. Of cause I was on me phone spreading the word and totally looking like that one that has to take pictures of everything. Not sharing all on here. Rib eye steak, medium rare, with roasted garlic sauce which I let the chef suprise me with, was a great decision. Wow. Must try the mushroom sauce next time but have it on mashed potatoes as well. Alas, I had no room for dessert but the magaritas also the cranberry juice was enough for me. Why the five stars? Literally best recommendation ever. Thank you my friend. You know who you are🤩. Lastly.. there is a bell at reception to give the chef a shout out and a gratuity for the amazing work done behind the scenes so we enjoy our meal, our time and the deliciousness of it all.
