Came here in 2002 and had literally the worst steak I've had in my life. It was so bad that now, 21 years later I'm still thinking about how bad that steak was.

Was dry. Leathery. Thin. Tasted like someone cooked it on a forman grill for 20 minutes then threw it in the microwave for another 5 for the fun of it.

Looking at the pictures now it seems quite good. Definitely improved in the last 21 years. But it's 2 am, I'm half way across the world and This steak was so bad it's keeping me up at night.

I had to vent this so I can sleep soundly.

. I was really surprised by the whole deal. Atmosphere was great and so was the service. The best part of all was the food and the price. Great food and great value. We will be back.

Initial thoughts were the place was a bit rough and not much to look at. It is very much sports bar.

However the food is the same they provide for the restaurant which was closed at the time and it was really good with great a great portion size.

I had the Tomahawk steak and my partner had the chicken salad, both were great and plentifully not to mention great value for money, staff were really friendly and accommodating.

Recommended.

The menu here is amazing! So many options and beautiful presentation! And our server MC, was so attentive, friendly and made some top notch drinks! If I could give six stars, I would. Will be back for sure, keep up the great work!

Bar snack dumplings were much better than expected, friendly helpful bar staff, a couple of pretty good pool tables, and supercharger on tap.

Fantastic Asian fusion food, pizzas too. Chef is fantastic! Well managed and excellent service.

Took the family to surf and turf restaurant in my home town Ruakaka had a wonderful meal in pleasant surroundings chef Warren served us delicious food cooked exactly how we wanted it. The restaurant which is part of the Ruakaka Tavern although operating kind of on its own was quiet so I suggest all locals call in and have a great meal and take the kids who are catered for on the menu and enjoy. And if you're driving past on state highway one turn onto Port Marsden road go past the shopping center next left and you are there. And as I always say you will be made to feel most welcome
