Nice venue in itself, but bartender has a real attitude problem, i was clearly an inconvenience to her evening. i said i was in for dinner, and asked for a beer, and insisted i paid for that before i chose my dinner, and then said i needed to be out by a certain time as table was booked. Plenty of time in theory, but meal took a long time to come out, and id have been able to make up the time eating if i didnt have to spend so much time chewing the steak, it rivaled the sole of a boot for tenderness. Wont be bringing the group of 5 ill be with tomorrow when my colleagues arrive in town, thats for sure

Went here tonight and ordered Ribs, was told I had to pay straight away (so I decided I would not be having desert later, as do not want separate payments). I have had Ribs at 3 different restaurants in the past 8 days, and these were the worst. Bland, little flavour, fatty, and not much meat. Looked good, but were a let down. Also just plain wedges with sour cream. Most places also serve a coleslaw or something else for similar price.
Plate was collected almost before I had put the fork down. I will not be back next time in Kerikeri.

Great little Bar / Restaurant. Friendly staff and beautiful meals. We had the Fish and Chips, Prawn Salad and the Chicken Fettuccine. They were all beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. 11 of us went to dinner here and everyone of us enjoyed our meal. Great menu choice. Were so full couldn't fit dessert in so went back the next night to sample the desserts. Dessert menu not so great a choice but desserts were nice.

Decent spot for a pint. Plenty of cosy corners, a pool table, a dining room and outdoor seating. Staff are chill, sports on the screens and a relaxed vibe. Looks a bit dated in spots but I imagine anyone who ever lived in KeriKeri has one or two good stories about what goes down at the RockSalt.

Poor poor service. Not a single staff member greeted us. Terrible food. Prawn in my salad was partially frozen. Tomato's were mushy. Burgers were terrible. The fish looked like it come from a bulk pack you find in the supermarket freezer section 😂 go home and make your own burger. Or go to burger fiasco instead.

We came on a public holiday and this restaurant was absolutely packed. The young waiter did an excelent job waiting tables on this busy day, the lady who was taking orders at the bar was quite abrupt and came off as rude but it was a very busy day. Overall the food was very nice and well cooked.

So much potential here. Nice interior, outside area, only place in town. However. Staff need training, nice people mostly but cocktails not shaken, in completely wrong/ weird glasses for drinks, food orders for next door table completely wrong, staff shouting orders across the room, items falling off plates due to not carrying them properly, just an all round mess and not ran very well. The food saved it enjoyed our meals, was still some improvement to be made there for example really runny mayo in burger tasted like a very cheap shop bought one and the steak sandwich was just a lump of steak chucked between two flat garlic breads and the cheese burger my partner had, had no cheese. It was quite busy and they obviously could have done with a couple of extra people but it was evident a proper manager was required and training for the staff they did have.

Had a late lunch at Rock Salt, food was excellent, service was good. The only downside that was the smoking patrons on the outer deck, as we had kids with us, they found this quite unpleasant. Overall, a good place to stop off for some breakfast or late tea.

Great place for a catch up or a quiet relax after a hard day's work. Or stay longer and let your hair down. With a great Bistro and a courtesy van, you can't go wrong??'?

Monday night dinning, food was very well cooked and delivered in a reasonable time..
The chips and fish were cooked with a perfect crunch, tartar sauce was balanced and tasty with fresh side salad. Well worth the money.

Awesome experience thank you to the brilliant staff both in front and at the back. Meals were wonderful atmosphere comfortable and warm and most accommodating as it was a sphere of the moment to sit and service 12 adults again absolutely ??'? 😀

Try the Espresso Martini so delicious. Live music was awesome. Bar staff were okay you order and pay as you go okay so good got that. But three staff on not taking table orders is a bit much when your still have to wait at the bar. Otherwise good experience but would be helpful if staff acknowledge your waiting.

Won't be returning again. Rude staff, was told that we can't just sit there and wait for service but we have to come to the bar to place our orders, food came ( paid good money ) and asked for a simple side of aioli but had to pay for it which we found pathetic. Didn't finish our two meals so we were going to take the rest of the food away with us, asked for a polystyrene container and yet again they said we have to pay for it if we want to take our food away. Walked out in disbelief and the staff stood there and watched us leave. Poor customer service to say the least...

Always enjoy the food here but tonight was probably the best we've had. Celebrated a birthday, didn't book in advance but found us a table for 6 with no problem. Ordered enough food to feed 8 and everything was cooked perfectly! Didn't even wait long for our food which we expected it to as we ordered a lot and was busy. Best place to eat in town! Thanks guys!
