Iconic kiwi pit stop. Hasn't changed since 1980's and there is nothing wrong with that. Standard pub fare with all the usual suspects. Food is consistently good value and nice. Tap beers and craft, wine, pre mix in the chiller. Garden bar / outside area. Cheap fuel accross the carpark. Recommend been coming here for 30 years. Chill vibes.

Had a great ??'?🏻 meal at the Red Fox Tavern at Maramarua. Ordered fish and chips with a couple of eggs. Yum, the meal was cooked to perfection. Awesome staff, very welcoming and always smiling. Definitely a place to call in when you're passing.

The meal was huge. I love my food, but I struggled to get through it all. Keep up the great work. 😊😊

Great.. friendly... I love my tequila, but was disappointed at $11 .50 a shot... clean and warm as its winter, gaming room great....and the food was the best ??'?..

Waited over half an hour for food (closer to an hour) when the cooks were standing around in the kitchen when we arrived, just talking. All of a sudden there were a whole pile of takeaways... dine in should come before take away. Drinks are expensive and small. Bar tender doesn't know how to smile. And apart from some pictures of some long dead race horses, there is no bar memorabilia, which in a pub that hasn't had any money spent on it in recent decades is weird. My partner and I both work in hospitality and we're disgusted. We won't be stopping again and we won't be recommending this place.

Loved it. I just got out of international travel from Australia and called in cause I was hungry, had sweet potato chips and real nice. I wish I could have stayed.

Stopped in for a beer and wedges. Great view. Lovely day for sitting outside. One of the things I love about New Zealand is there's always a pub in the middle of nowhere.
