Last minute walk-in booking for 9 adults was taken with positivity, friendliness and welcome. Our group of 9 had to find somewhere to be fed before the trip back to Queenstown, as our original booking elsewhere, fell over. The staff were attentive and awesome from the get go and made our very generous meals especially quickly. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and the food was excellent "value for money" pub grub. All the other patrons seemed happy with their meals too. I would not hesitate to return, if requiring home-cooked style of generously prepared pub food, served by such pleasant and accommodating staff, who work without complaint, to satisfy their patrons. Thank you for feeding us all towards the end of your serving period

Stopped in for a meal. Great food lovely people and huge servings. Despite there being a boil water notification, the staff were cheerfully making the best of things!

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED .!!!!! as a local to central Otago and my very first time to drop in FOR lunch and cold refreshment on a hot day Was slap in the face with a $14 dollar charge for handle of beer that was not even cold. !!!! ( they don't even charge that in QUEENSTOWN , its probably why I never stoped in

Friendly and helpful staff. Food was really good. I had the pork roast and it was fabulous really enjoyable after a long day biking. My husband had the steak, egg and chips which again was great - good hearty food. We were impressed that a pint of beer was $3.00 cheaper than our home town! Thanks for your hospitality.

$35 for chicken schnitzel and chips which was burnt, old, as tough as the soul of a shoe, and absolutely no taste. Hair in my gravy. I was warned about their food, sadly it was the only option. Over priced and disgusting.

Wonderful night's stay with pleasant and helpful staff. The bedroom was very well presented, the pub meal was everything I hoped for, and the breakfast was perfect.

The ladies behind the bar were nice and friendly however their alcohol is over priced. They charge for a pint but what you get is a handle and the wine was also expensive. Only stayed for the one round as 2 drink at $26.50 was a little steep for us.

Very expensive and can't get your orders right. Very dissapointed. Will not go back.

Very clean and tidy original hotel. Very comfortable and warm room. Fantastic meal in the bar with the fire roaring. Friendly and helpful staff.

The female staff member was not really interested in engaging conversation or bar service. She was very unhelpful. The menu was poor quality and expensive.
The female toilet had a hot tap. But some one has removed the tap handle so it can't be used. The lounge where lunch was was extremely cold. Decor old and depressing. We sat next to a window with the sun pouring in.

Food is passable. The staff at the restaurant/pub provided one of the most cold and indifferent services I've ever experienced in nz. Zero conversational skill or incentive; zero response to the four "thank you" I gave her for her service. Drive to waipiata country hotel for much better service and food if you don't mind an additional 10 minute travel.
