Had a great Friday evening meal here while travelling through the magnificent Waitaki Valley. Friendly and prompt service, nice atmosphere with the log burner roaring, excellent menu. Very enjoyable stop, will do again :)

We stayed at a nearby accomodation and had an excellent dinner at Otematata's Best Damn Pub! The ribs were tasty and cooked really well. The homemade cheesecake is a must try! It's not too sweet and one of the best ones I've ever tried. The service was exceptional! Definitely recommended this place and would come back next time we are in NZ.

Absolutely lovely my therapy dog came along too and was VERY welcomed so that's an instant 5* room thoroughly warmed and very clean! Lovely products can't recommend staying here more!

Not the cleanest room, but comfortable and quiet with all the amenities I needed on a cold night (hot shower, space heater, heating blanket) and sufficient Wi-Fi for checking email. Friendly staff. Easy access to Mt. Cook. I arrived too late to try the restaurant -  next time!

Stayed overnight while riding the Alps to Ocean the rooms were clean and tidy, they had everything you needed the staff were friendly and very helpful. The meals were outstanding and delicious. The breakfast was generous and gave good variety and the packed lunches were divine.

Stayed here an a motorcycle trip. Rooms we were in were a 'blast from the past'. Good water pressure in shower. Food was totally average. The slow-cooked brisket felt like it had been shipped in from elsewhere and reheated. Salad was terrible. Can't honestly recommend this place, although it was busy on the night we stayed. It doesn't really meet the description on the packet.

We always enjoy eating here. Great pub food, generous servings and high quality at reasonable prices. The staff are terrific, which just adds to the overall nice feeling factor. Highly recommended, but can be very busy on public holidays.

Donot miss, stop and have a meal or drink here at the Bar and Lodging. We ordered Stake and fish plate both were amazing, the Stake was one of the best that I have had in my life.
Staff and services were absolutely nice and friendly, although we got there late and the kitchen was almost closed, they served the food very nicely and properly.

Stoped overnight on A2O. Great bar and food. Friendly staff. Caught them on wings night - nice treat. Lots of variety on menu. We had burgers and chicken poke bowls. All was tasty. Recommend the stay and stop.

It pays not to bypass some of the old hotels along your trip. The bar and resturant had a lovely fire and comfy relaxing chairs. Friendly bar staff had your drinks (and repeat drinks) at the ready. Our meal was amazing. Just the right amount, quick turn around, well plated, fresh and delicious. Food is always the reason to return, and return we shall. Seriously don't drive past, call in and enjoy you won't be disappointed.

As a group of A2O riders it served our needs perfectly, rooms were clean and tidy, staff friendly, and dinner options in the bar were all you could ask of good pub grub, thoroughly enjoyed. Leggie the bar manager was friendly, relaxed, and super efficient.

Absolutely amazing service, and the food was awesome too. Will be making a stop every time we pass through once we've made the move over to NZ later this year! Big shout out to the publican who welcomed us so warmly and looked after our little family while we ran about the place after a long drive.

We met the owner itself and they were so accommodating. We have late check in to the accomodations and still we got our dinner as we asked about them. My son love the pizza and of course it goes along with my beer on it. Nice location.

I had the Brisket Burger, WOW!
It was beautiful. I've had a few BBQ Burgers from some great establishments, but this was right up there. My partner had the Thai Beef Salad. It was the best salad she's had on a while. The food and service were excellent in our opinion, and we had a dog so we day out front. Great scenery on a beautiful day. Highly recommend stopping here for food on your travels here.
