Was the best and now just average.
been coming here for years but lately the service has dropped dramatically. Prices have gone up and drink sizes are smaller Just not the same any more.

Food is average. Service seems to be very friendly to locals. My 3rd time giving it a go and its never a friendly greeting or atmosphere. I got told off for not stating it's happy hour when paying , the went on to day he wad a salesman so not his job to let me know the specials..wasn't rally impressed. Would not recommend for a family friendly resturant or newbies

Great tasting food, portion was a bit small but that might have just been my specific meal. My colleagues looked to be a decent size.

We were there for a work meeting during the week day so didn't mind it being a bit quiet.

Lots of good deals on different days of the week. Good place to hang for a beer or two.

Watched the afternoon rugby with family, and it was a great atmosphere. Plus, we got complimentary chips for supporting the Blues, which is always awesome!! Thank you, Mayfields Sportshouse

The Mayfield Sportshouse in Wairua Valley (Auckland, North Is.) MUST BE AVOIDED for several reasons:
1. The coffee is subpar. It tasted like they have not been changing the coffee beans to save money. Ewww! Therefore, it is the WORST COFFEE I've ever had. The instant coffee is way better than the one they offer. (I forgot to take a photo of the coffee for evidence).
2. For consecutive weeks, they have been overcharging one of our mates. Lucky, our mate was paying attention and she brought it up.
3. W/o asking us, they clear our tables even though we are still finishing our food and enjoying each other's company. This demonstrates that staff here are so rude. They need extensive training.
4. Staff are also not welcoming and approachable. Their body languages and facial expression show it! For instance, I got the wrong order, but I didnt bother to tell them because the waiting staff were not making eye contacts and busy entertaining other customers. I found them racist too. The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

These reasons highlight that it is not worth of your time and money to visit this place. You must definitely avoid this place. If you want quality food and be treated like a human being, support another local business.

Super rude staff! The man who serves in the counter ignored me asking dessert menu and then ask me to be patient. I waited for all that long after he made a cofee to another customer, and then told me they dont serve dessert.
If not we have ordered meal ready, we would leave.

The team went out of their way to accommodate our 21st party. Special thanks to the kitchen team that made extra food after closing. Using this venue is hassle free and allows you to enjoy your evening.

We held a Xmas work function at Mayfield Sportshouse last night (December 2022). Beautiful buffet dinner, awesome staff and atmosphere. Thanks so much Curt, Hillary, Hilton and staff. Such a great night!

Had a lovely fresh baked pizza, it was truly mouth watering.
Washed down with a cold beer.

All I can say is visit this place. Friendly team. Food is outstanding and good value. I come here three to four times a week. Always for food. Some of the meals.could be served in five star places. The Team in the kitchen pump out a new blackboard menu ever week. Tbone Thursday's is a favourite from the daily specials. Beer, steak, salad, chips for $25. Delicious food at a great price. I can't resist $12 bacon, eggs and coffee for breakfast

Been here for many football games but never dinner. We went as the place we intended to go was closed on Mondays. It was extremely quiet which I thought wasn't a great sign, however, the kai was really good! We had 2 chicken burgers and a halloumi salad - all tasty & delicious and great portion sizes! Just goes to show looks can deceive. Service was great and nice and friendly and relaxed.

Impressed. The food was amazing had the special which was the lamb burger. Beautiful food. Well presented. Cooked to perfection.Nice atmosphere. Service was excellent. Friendly staff and good vibe.Lemon Meringue Pie was delicious.

We've been served with OK food and OK service.

Very large indoor area with TAB rooms well off to the side of the actual restaurant. Large outdoor dining area with large screen TV as the main feature and a long table with highstools to sit on. Great for groups, usually 1 or 2 sports teams having a beer and dinner after training when Hubby & I have visited. There's much more seating around the sides of the high table in front of the sports playing where, even with the roadies of guys you can still have a comfortable conversation with whoever you are eating with. Nice positive atmosphere and 5++ for their service. We visited 24th Feb and there was only 1 young guy serving all the tables plus ensuring there were disinfected even when removing your own plates. He wasn't hard to get a hold of for extras as we did 2-3x.. always had a smile and didn't write anything down yet remembered our orders even though mine came with 2x special requests!! He definitely deserved an award for fast, efficient yet super friendly service!!

Foodwise: They do breakfast, lunch & dinner. They also have an extensive bar snacks menu. I've never eaten breaking there but have sampled a lot from their bar snacks, lunch and dinner for the first time last night
