I went to the Editor's Cut restaurant today (Sun, 16 July'23) along with 3 friends. We all ordered our meals at the same time,m, however 2 meals came reasonably quickly, the other 2 coming 15 - 20 minutes later. The first 2 diners had almost finished their meal by the time the last 2 received theirs. When my meal finally arrived (the last meal to be delivered), it was not what I ordered. I 'politely' sent the meal back, but as it turned out, I should have kept it! The meal was disappointing to say the least! Both the fish and the chips were soggy, and I couldn't really identify the fish from the batter. After 2 mouthfuls, I couldn't eat any more. It seems that the oil it was cooked in was clearly not hot enough. It was VERY greasy.
My friend, who also had the battered fish and chips, could only eat a little of the meal. Her meal was also 'soggy'. Within an hour after the meal she became unwell, and several hours later is no better. We suspect food poisoning.
Sadly, we will not be going back to the restaurant as not only was the meal disappointing, I felt the kitchen service was not up to standard either.
The 'front of house' staff were very pleasant however, but despite the fact that there were only ~6 other diners in the restaurant at the time, the disparity in the timing of delivering our meals was unacceptable - and they delivered the wrong meal to me.
