Buttermilk chicken burger was amazing! Had a little mix up with one of the kids meals but haylee was awesome got it sorted really quick. We had a large booking, Kim was so patient and helpful!

We come here for a birthday dinner as a family in late June 2023, first time since the re branding.

The experience was awful to say the least. The wait staff are the biggest problem here, they had absolutely no idea about the menu when questioned. We continuously had to chase them up with ordering drinks, they were often found at the bar gossiping, in fact at one point I walked up to the bar to get another round of drinks and had to wait 5 minutes for them to finish gossiping as the didn't realise I was there. At the end of the night after voicing our disappointment loud enough for them to here the took a drinks order and never brought the drinks out but still tried to charge us for them.

When we went to pay cash at the bar there was no money in the till and it took them 20 minutes to find change for us.

The kids meals were fine but the adults meals were a bit over cooked.

The kids play area is great but it is the only thing this place has going for it. I have strongly recommended to others, not to go here for a meal.

Good and prompt service. We were seated far away from the play ground without asking for that. We were happy with the food. They were big meals with the expected quality for the type of establishment. Venue was well presented.

Not the place you want to go if you don't like hearing other people's kids. Great venue for people bringing their kids as the playground looks awesome but it would be great if people would interrupt their kid's very loud tantrum before it hits the 10 minute mark.

Really good service and atmosphere. Something for everyone from the sports bar to the restaurant. Had Bourbon Pork Pelly and the wife had Cajun Salmon. Both were on point. Definitely worth the visit and reasonably priced too.

Been here for a couple of Children's birthday celebrations. Great food and at a great cost for a family with four children. Also love that our children can go and play at the playground safely. Our children also love the train, and they made sure it kept going. Thank you for the lovely dinner experience. We definitely will be back again.

It's your average restaurant to go to for dinner or hang out with family and friends. We had dinner here a few times over the years. It's a spacious place to dine in. They cater birthdays and other occasions. The playground is a plus to dine with kids. I think this is a great feature for this place. Our son enjoyed his time although he wasn't able to really focus on his food but that's why the playground is there. We have a full on son and we avoided going out most of the time because he cant stay still but if we have a special occasion we go to this place as we can dine and relax knowing he is having fun. Food is good not too special about it. They have not changed the menu for ages. Taste good but not as great but that's fine we enjoyed it.

Pleasantly surprised, my meal very good, chicken salad, kitchen staff did well in getting 8 different meals out together as there were new staff training. Staff were pleasant atmosphere with small children comfortable as the vast inside playing area just on edge of restaurant.

Loved the Homestead. The food was amazing, the Pork Belly was on point. Buttermilk chicken was yum. New York steak was amazing. Desert fab. Cocktails yum. We wanted to visit again, but they were fully booked. So make sure you book in advance.

Had such a great experience. The platters were amazing and the kids had such a fun time playing in the playground. They were super stoked with their traffic light drink that came with the platters! Will definitely be back.

Awesome experience tonight! My 4 year old had a blast in the play area and I got to enjoy a really nice meal. Servers were great with all the kids running around. Great family restaurant, will certainly be coming back.

Terrible service, pointed not shown to a table by a sour faced unfriendly staff member (April). Waited almost 30 minutes before we were even offered a drink, place wasn't even that busy. Staff all generally unfriendly, I felt unwelcome the whole time I was there. Will never be back.

Don't get my wrong, my Friday nights are my happy place when I work my behind off after a big work week. I usually spend the evening at my local either: drinking a sensible amount of drinks, scouring for a good read or possibly enjoying a rare sunset. However I was absolutely appalled by the service I received at Homestead. Being refused service due to the nature of my Australian Identification, left me stranded on a lonely night out. I can't bear to think what locals let alone visitors feel after being declined a cold beverage due to the nature of their ID. I hope that my rating will allow staff to endure the forthcoming of future patrons that wish to indulge in said venue.

This used to be a Cob & co location, and other than the name and some of the stying, it is still identical as a restaurant, as far as I can see. That means it's got all the plusses ( kids playground and menu, simple and mostly yummy food) and minuses ( lots of kids running around, not super sophisticated) of that chain. Think Cob & co and you'll know what you're getting.
I had the steak, which wasn't great. I suggest the fare from the smoker/bbq, that stuff looked good.
Our waiter wasn't very knowledgeable about food allergies, but he gave us a chart with all the allergy info we needed. That was an excellent touch.

Very surprised. We had extremely bad experience 2 years ago with atrocious service and extremely bad food. Complained nothing happened. Vowed never to go back. Went back this evening with family for birthday very hesitant but outcome pleasantly surprising. Excellent service throughout thank you so much to Lisa. Great food fast service very enjoyable. We are from the North Island visiting a friend in Invercargill.
We were extremely unimpressed with the service. Our server was rude, grumpy, didn't smile, rushed us to get out.
She was walking us to our table and stopped near a few, then started walking off; I had to ask what table was ours.
Unfortunately we will never go back to this registrant because of the server.
It has the potential to be a 5star rating.

As soon as we sat down we didn't even get the to look at the menu before we were told we HAD to hurry and order our meal.
We asked why she said 'I don't know I was told by my boss to tell you'; she said this as she walked off grumpy. She literally came back 1min later and said 'you need to order now'!

My husband asked for the desert menu she gave him a grumpy look then walked off without saying anything.
We got the menus and ordered desserts. This took a very very long time to bring out 3 desserts.(out of a table of 8)

The 1⭐ is to the chef and kitchen hand/s as the food was very nice; And the meals were presented beautifully.
(My key lime tart tasted and looked like passionfruit not lime. It was still tasty.
