Came in for lunch with 16 tourist, mostly no English, 12pm on Saturday with no reservation. Our waiter Lelly had an amazing attitude and was very patient with our group, loved his sense of humor. Food was prepared quickly, was delicious and great portions. Thanks to all the staff there

I was told they have the best seafood chowder in town, and me loving seafood chowder and knowing it's very hard to find good one, I came and checked the place.Nice and clean pub,great service,good Irish beer and beeaauuttifulll seafood chowder.

Tonight (Saturday)25th March, we went into Hennessy's for a meal.
From the moment we went in Lelly, the waiter welcomed us and showed us to a table. He was very polite and attentive.
The meal, Irish cottage pie was amazing as was the dessert, Lelly recommended we have Granny Malone bread and butter pudding and Lemon meringue pie, what an excellent recommendation.

A wonderful place to stop for a meal. Our waiter, Lelly, was a delightful and attentive staff member who looked after us very well and provided wonderful warm and welcoming service. The food and drinks were excellent. We're eager to return.

Always great service by family owned bar & restaurant. Fabulous, value for money tasty meals. Typical Irish setting including Irish music! We visit regularly & play our board game.

The meal was so good!!! Scotch fillet was cooked to perfection, the mussel chowder was yummy, the super friendly staff were awesome quick efficient service all round, thank you so much

Listening to Irish music whilst rugby finals are on both screens with muted game commentary is not my idea of watching sport on TV whilst having a beer. Why i didn't buy dinner. i understand it's not a sports bar. Great beer on tap.

We had a group of 10 adults & 2 kids for dinner last night for Mum's 65th . Great hospitality especially from the main man and quick service. Open chicken sandwich & loaded wedges were yum, great pour on the Kilkenny. Classic Irish pub decor, sport on and good music.

The interior decor is straight from the Old World, the music is classic Irish (and always just low enough to still have a nice chat), they've got a good array of drinks on tap and the food, THE FOOD, is quality pub food that will warm your soul. Try the Seafood Chowder (big enough to share) and the Irish Lamb and Beef Guinness Pies! They will warm you right up on a cold night. The portion sizes are generous and the prices perfectly reasonable.
The service is very welcoming, warm, and attentive.
We can't wait to come back!!!

The best meal in a long time, cottage pie for me and lambs fry for the boss we've been rotorua locals for about 6years. I wish we had found it sooner. ??'?

First of all Im not a Rotorua local. Was in town for the night and went to Hennessy's around 7pm. I ordered the Fish ands Chips $20 and a pint of beer $9. Food and service was great. The name of the place reflects exactly what it is, a bar and a good one at that. Would I recommend to others?..... Damned right I would.

We had our daughters 21st at Hennessey's and wow they were so awesome to deal with. Reg made everything so easy which allowed us to relax and enjoy our night. We will be back no doubt.

Visiting Rotorua for a few day, had a fabulous meal tonight, tried the Sunday Roast of beef, it was excellent followed with a desert of cheesecake, great value along with excellent service. Will defo call in again before we leave.

2 Adults & 3 kids...We had a lovely family meal here on Boxing Day 2018. Very friendly staff met us at the door and escorted us to a great spot. The menu was easy to choose from...2 kids had the mini burger & fries which was actually normal sized and delicious. Our eldest ordered the chicken fettuccine which she gave a 5/5. I ordered the lamb shank which was falling off the bone. My husband ordered the steak meal which was cooked to perfection. Overall very satisfying and affordable.
Highly recommended family meal.
