Another great pub meal at the grand. Love the banter with the locals (thanks Bob) and great bar staff. Always good to see the friendly lady in the kitchen too! I always clear the dishes to the kitchen when finished at these lovely country pubs. Always nice to show your appreciation.

Last came to this place in the 90's as a 17 year old tree planter. And it hasn't changed since! You can get a damn good burger and chips for $12. Brilliant. Better than any of the knob jockey outfits in Queenstown for twice the price. And a jug is about half the price too. Outstanding classic NZ pub.

This is a great friendly local pub ran by a great couple.
Recommend calling in for a drink and chat.

Very disappointed! The website has been saying they are open until 8pm for a while now and we checked again before our long distance travel so we could call in and have our dinner here.
We arrived at 7pm to find the tavern closed and of course we were very hungry.
I called through messenger on Facebook as they never seem to pick up the phone from the main phone line when ever we have tried to call within operating hours.
So I spoke to a lady and said we are here and looks like it's closed and website said open until 8pm. She rudely said haven't updated website yet and than hung up on me.
We than had to travel an extra 15 mins to a takeaway shop which the food was not great.
Deffinately would not recommend this tavern at all, especially if your traveling you can't trust it to be open when it says it will be and very rude lady!

What a great pub, spoilt for choice on the menu, had whitebait patties, wow! Oysters, yum! And blue cod, awesome! Great service, recommended, thanks team!
