Will not be staying there again.
Pre-booked through expedia, but the online booking was completely ignored by the staff. Staff acted as if we never booked even after showing them email proof of the booking. This meant after we arrived (within checkin hours) staff had not check their online bookings for well over 24 hours or they would have seen the booking and prepared the booked room ..OR.. they were acting as if they hadn't seen the booking so they could up the price from $88 booked to $110 over the bar. "Bait and switch" and over a barrel with no where else to stay.
Concerning questions for our expedia booking, would they take money from our bank too and who would be paying their fees? Did the staff cancel our booking through expedia and also keep the booking fee money? Or did expedia not do the booking? No reply from expedia at this stage.
Staff missed out on meals and drinks profits because of the poor booking service and a $22 impromptu price increase. Food other people were eating looked reasonable.
The room was not prepared - no soap, face cloths/flannels and items were still in the refrigerator from the last tenants (items in the freezer that were melted in their packets). Remote had the batteries sellotaped in and the TV acted like it had "bad net" with glitchy freezes intermittently all evening. I had to deal to a full grown silverfish bug in the corner by the bed. It would be nice not to see assorted stains (hopefully food) on both sides of the bed cover.
Shower was good.
Bed was comfortable.
Overall, the experience went from bad to worse (from expedia to the pub) as time went by, which is a shame as previously we have enjoyed many good stays here, but now there is different management.
New Managers need to work on their customer service, room preparation, computer skills (?) and consider bug spraying in the off season / close off sections.
