Stop over 4 lunch on the way to Auckland - what a joyful discovery. Husband ordered schnitzel and I had the days special of fish and chips.

The slaw on both our plates was the most fabulous thing on our plates. The rest of food was very good... But we salivated over that slaw for many days after.

My husband and I tried this restaurant and ohh boy! You're in for a treat! We went here for four consecutive days during our stay in Taupo. We ordered the same dish and each order is as great as the first one! I highly recommend the steak with mash potatoes and fries whilst my husband had the lamb shank pie! Both dishes were flavorful and fresh! Bar man we're helpful about my husbands choice of beer. I always order aperol sprits as my go-to drinks but it seems they don't have it. I opted for a G&T and it's well mixed. The restaurant itself had a nice feeling about it, well lit and maintained. We will definitely be back!

Excellent restaurant and bar in the center of Taupo's central business district! It is a beautiful space, with lots of wood, lovely woven light fixtures, brass lighting over the bar, ferns, and a fireplace. For beer lovers, there are 10 beers on tap, plus they have a nice wine list and a full bar. The menu is excellent, with strong sharing plates, pizzas, pub standards like fish and chips, great sounding salads, plus a range of other entrees. We got Chicken Parmigiana (yum!!) and followed it with Sticky Date Pudding for dessert.

Great all-around experience and I'd definitely go back.

I got chicken parmagiana $17 Thurs special & my BF got the laksa. Both were good although part of my chicken Was over cooked 3/5. The laksa was beautiful 4/5.

Good to place to hang out on a weekend night. The bartenders were so polite n friendly (except one). Large place so it didnt feel too crowded. Food was good too.

Music was a little loud inside for a Tuesday evening, so it was hard to have a proper conversation. But the food was good.
Can't really comment on the service. Bartender was friendly enough, but you're given a buzzer and collect your food from a window when it's ready. 2 of the 4 orders came first and friends were half way through their meal before the other 2 meals were ready. But food was hot, tasty and we enjoyed ourselves. Would return.

We won't be back. Went with a family group hoping for food that would please everyone. The food is gross to ordinary depending on what you order. Chicken salad was breaded and fried chicken on leaves. Pizza was ordinary at best. (Edited to add: my sister said the fish tacos were good). It's self-serve all the way from ordering to picking up your food, even finding your own cutlery. Food took a quite while. Kids meals and drinks were at least quick.

Girls' weekend away, high expectations of delicious food, very disappointed.

We were pretty excited to come here for dinner our first night in Taupō and genuinely thought we'd be back again but the whole experience was pretty disappointing. The food was nice enough but not omg I need to go back. The service was non-existent, the person behind the bar looked and acted like he'd rather be any where else but there - not quite the welcome you'd expect when you first arrive. He wore a mask but not properly so was really no point. The person that delivered our food was friendly enough however we never had anyone come over to us at all in the time we were there, not to take drink orders or offer water for the glasses on our table which must have just been for decoration or clear our plates. It wasn't a cheap meal, it wasn't very busy and to be honest, I doubt I'd go back.

Over priced, mediocre food.
The steak was the smallest I'd ever received in a restaurant and over cooked, likewise was my sons. The salad was nice but I don't order a steak meal to enjoy the salad.
Had the mousse for pudding, again over priced, small and dull.
Long wait times, even though it was a Monday night and certainly not a full house.
Not a place we would visit again.
On a positive note, an extra star for great atmosphere and staff.

Came for drinks at the end of the night on A Sunday. We had a really enjoyable night watching winter Olympics on their phenomenal screens. Guiness and tawny port wine were delicious. Would come again.
