Have visited many times now. A true hidden gem. The food is always incredibly tasty (tried the fishcakes on Sunday and they were great) and the service always friendly. Can recommend highly for a meal.

My family and I went here without any expectations and were absolutely impressed and surprised by the quality of our meals.

It was steak night - our steaks were cooked exactly as we'd requested, blue and rare. The accompanying fries, mushroom sauce, garlic butter and salad were outstanding and complemented the sirloin perfectly. At only $15, the value here is unbeatable - one would expect to pay at least $30 for a steak this good in Wellington.

Great renovation. The stag cafe is a great addition. The beer as always is good and the staff are excellent. Just typical Kapiti Coast and Otaki hospitality. Come to enjoy the sun, then come here to wind down.
