Regrettably, I visited the Crate & Barrel Restaurant yesterday. As a repeat customer, I was disappointed they're still placing badly discoloured and heavily scratched water glasses on the tables. I politely requested another one as it looked disgusting. Unfortunately the waitress took it upon herself to make sure we felt uncomfortable for the remainder of our visit. It was an empty restaurant except for one other table and the menu was bar snacks and pizza menu, which to be fair was lacking in both listed ingredients and quality. When we went to pay, the Manager took it upon himself, to verbally attack me for insinuating his glasses were filthy and or dirty, neither which I said. He proceeded to tell me they couldn't afford to throw away glasses that were damaged beyond a presentable state and to forget it as it wasn't going to happen.
Unbelievable, how this manager thought nothing of ripping a customer apart, in front of others, clearly unable to handle constructive criticism about his glassware.
I'm not surprised there are staffing issues going on & are currently advertising. Attitudes speak volumes. Maybe it's time for a change Craig. Well, here's a handy tip, perhaps you're unaware that by using the 'Grab-One' or Crate & Barrel voucher system, one actually needs to look after your customers once they arrive. That way, you'd have more customers coming through, generating more income & you'd be able to afford to replace your worn out glasses. A course in caring for customers would benefit the waitress and manager in my opinion.
