Well won't make the mistake of stopping here again! Should have read the recent reviews as it seems to be a ongoing issue.
All the food is just frozen and re heated including the garlic breed which came out still frozen in the middle after our mains...
Had surf and turfs, at $45.50 each you expect better than 5 small frozen cocktail prawns on a frozen steak (definitely not a ribeye) that has been defrosted and cooked.
Other main issue is the staff, I know that's hard in places like this but the waitress barely speaks English and sat at a table eating and drinking on her phone while waiting for customers, the rest are all in the kitchen play fighting and carrying on for customers to see etc.
Overall I've never had an experience like it, only went there as everything else was closed.

Nice fresh pub food. Orange roughy and chips, washed down with a lovely cold pressed apple cider. Fast service and a good fire in the stove on a chilly autumn afternoon. The well-seasoned side salad and dish of tartare sauce was a pleasant addition.

Go early on a Saturday night as a cosy place that fills up quickly.

Amazing atmosphere and cosy community feeling. Managed to visit on social night and it was great to see the locals all enjoying themselves. Had a beautiful salad and salmon on toast. Was a very generous serving of salmon! Great value for money,

We dined here on a very busy Monday evening. The waitress was more than accommodating for the 4 adults and 1 infant in our party, even moving a couple off a table to free space, and then helping us to move to another table that better suited the high chair. The food was excellent, and the service was second to none. Could not recommend the Boot's and Jandal's more.

The food at this pub surprised a seasoned travellers. Great outlook, not so busy and good parking. Outside dinning if not too cold. Could not ask for a better lunch.

Gorgeous little pub. Staff are lovely and welcoming even when they are slammed and busy. Food was great, steak was cooked perfectly and the chicken burgers were awesome. For the price, it's fantastic compared to what you get nearby.

Great country pub. Food is always amazing, this is our second visit from the North Island in a year. Kinda wished that faithful doggies waiting for their owners, were allowed inside from the cold but i guess rules are rules!?

Stopped in for dinner and it was a hearty serving of burger and chips, which tasted good too.

The lady's behind the bar are super friendly and helpful, but sadly our meals for dinner let us down. I ordered steak very well done, as i cant eat undercooked meat and it came our medium rear and as they were very busy saw no point in sending back. Won't bother visiting again for a meal.

All the barmaids were absolutely awesome, apart from one called Loo who is also apparently the manager...I have nothing bad to say apart from Loo...was having an awesome night as were many until Loo chose to close the bar abruptly at 10:30 without calling last drinks. She then sat outside smoking...

Could be an awesome place with the right management 🙂

Great food. Rare steak and fish both extremely well cooked. Friendly efficient service. Good place to go after the hot pools.

Only choice in town but was very pleasantly supprised. Good honest pub grub. Great friendly service from Ron. Amazing house made peppercorn sauce. Between the sauce and Ron's great service we will be back

Very busy night being the only local eatery open. Staff did a great job coping. Ended up having to eat outside on a very cold night. Food was tasty even though cold, vegetarian stack & garlic bread.

We all enjoyed our meals so yummy. Very friendly place. Enjoyed our time here with friends
