Stopped for lunch on Saturday. The pub was really busy, but the service was great. The young lady who served us was lovely. My chicken burger was so good.😋😋😋 Will definitely be returning.

Ordered the Pork Belly, looked amazing when it came out, however was dry and hard to chew. Told two staff and not one of them acknowledged it nor offered a complimentary meal/drink or anything. Poor service and made the experience dinning out in Methven unpleasant.

We ate at the Blue pub last night. It was busy and the service was topclass. The food was fast tasty and fairly priced. The place was also clean and tidy. Top marks.

Grew up here and the food is still amazing to thus day rooms are amazing well cleaned and maintained and the location is beautiful the staff are all kind and welcoming

The rooms are very clean with a comfy bed. The bathroom facilities were spacious and convenient. The shared kitchen lounge also works well. The Manager, Casey, is an excellent host.

Visited mid-week for lunch on a nice sunny day. Food was very good pub-style food. Lamb Shank and Chicken Wrap were great. Inside and outside seating. Great friendly service. Guiness on tap. Popular bar in the middle of Methven. Free parking close by.

Really clean, comfortable and as expected rooms for the rate. Unfortunately had scaffolding all across the exterior when I was there recently.

All round a nice experience. Easy to book. Indoor and outdoor seating. Standard pub food that was good. Great tap beers.

My only wish would be that you can get to the bar from the accommodation rather than walk around to the pub door. Fine though.

Best pub in Methven! Go and visit and you be wont be disappointed, but you will be a bit tiddly! Visited for partners birthday drinks at 11am on a Thursday. Beautiful location, stunning view and brilliant staff that are a laugh. The barman has oodles of experience, reflected in the comprehensive and quality cocktails , featuring old-school shooters and shakers ! House made bar snacks the calamari was fabulous. Stumbled away smiling and laughing after yarns with the barman and locals. Classic, intimate, entertaining old style wooden pub with alot of character but modernized. Look forward to staying on next visit. We recommend the orgasm, hurricane sex on the beach and slippery nipple 😜

Went to the blue pub last night. 1st off what a cool pub. We went with a group of 6 and the place was really busy with people we ordered the pick 5 platter and 6 main meals and our hole table was super impressed with the timely manner our food came out in and all the food was great every person at our table had only good things to say about what they were eating we also had a great waitress I wish I could remember her name because I would name her. Loving place, great location. Last visit service was not up to there awesome standard. The meal was brilliant, but having your entrees and main course arriving meant some of our meal was cold! Sadly I was blamed for this! You didn't say to bring them separate ???"???".

Had a very enjoyable meal about 30min ago. Only problem was I ate too much. Lovely staff great atmosphere. Thanks loved it

The food was good, the drink was good, and the place looked okay. Hospitality was not so good. Had a rude waitress who threw our food on the table and was very rude throughout the evening and felt like an inconvenience to the barman when we first got there. My friend, who is a local, was horrified and said it was normally a great place to go. Must have been a stressful day. All the same, I'm not sure I'll be back anytime soon.

The foreign woman that was working was an absolute embarrassment to your business. I only hope she owns it because she is not doing the place any favours. Rude, disrespectful, arrogant and no customer service skills. Accusations were thrown on her behalf and there was no apology when we corrected her. She stormed off instead.

The only saving grace was the guy behind the bar. He was polite and accommodating. All other staff members should not be working with public.

Girls weekend away went to Blue pub for tea, great meals, forgot about chicken on salad by time they brought it out I had just about finished it. Should have got the pizza as they looked real good.

Disappointing experience with service from what I believe to be the manager, she just made our experience difficult and was spoken to rudely and even accusations thrown around. We also had out 6 month baby in the buggy with us. She was not accomodating at all. I told this to some friends who have been a few times and they said that she is often rude. We don't pay to be there to have that kind of experience. We only went to catch up with family and was frustrated the whole time.
Food was great and came our quickly. The other stuff were lovely.

Great choice of beers including guiness and good meals. Staff very friendly and efficient in great old building. Even better outside in summer!

Stopped in for refreshments after riding the 3 Gorges. Great chips, we struggled to eat the large but they were cooked perfect. And fast service for out large group. Will be back for round 2 soon.

We went to the pub hoping for dinner. The menu and venue looked great. The restaurant was busy and we hadn't booked (foolishly) but the waitress/barmaid was incredibly unhelpful and off putting. She did say we could find a table in the pub but when we did, told us it was 'for the pool table' ... then we were ignored.
We left and had a fab dinner around the corner at another establishment who welcomed us (and our money) with open arms.
I'm writing this as I'd be unhappy if my staff were to treat customers this way.

Budget accommodation but nice and clean. Band fired up from 9pm to 1.15am😟 and kept us awake...but we liked the music! Cleaning ladies were very nice and the pub food and bar were terriffic when the rugby test was on.
