Honestly, this is THE best place to have functions, accommodation is on point (comfortable beds, rainfall shower head with great pressure, heated towel rack, fridge, kettle AND microwave).
You can also park right outside your room - as well as access the hotel internally too.

Staff are a delight, nothing too much trouble. Restaurant is really beautiful - amazing food, I would come here for dinner even if I wasn't saying here.

They even have a cute little pub type option for more casual dining or is you just want a drink.

Little areas you can comfortably chill out in. Honestly can't speak more highly of it.

Guests appreciated the huge rooms, but some felt the maintenance could be better. Guests liked the large bathrooms, but some claimed the cleanliness could be better.

Popped in just for a pot of tea, quite late in the afternoon.
That was absolutely no problem to the nice young lady who served me. Full tea service and 2 jaffas! Lovely. Just the relaxing break I needed during my trip.

Staff friendly and helpful. Pillows great. Free bikes basic but useful. Food very good. So pretty tired decor but all the important things (service, sleeping and food) as good as it gets.

Careful when booking the one bedroom apartment. The add says one Queen and one King bed but it is a Queen bed and a king single bed in the bedroom so if you've booked for 2 adults and 2 kids someone has to sleep on the fold out couch. Also, the 1pm check-in time option on the website is not true. The pool area needs a deep clean and some fresh paint. The sauna is lovely. The bar menu is definitely way more value for money than eating in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet is expensive but excellent.

Stayed here for 3 nights in the motel block. Very old but clean. The reason for the low review is the sound insulation (or lack thereof). I could hear every word the people on unit 21 were saying. Even kept me up with his snoring on night one. On second night they had an argument at like 1am. After yelling "shut up" several times I was at the end of my tether. Contemplated going to their door and having a go at Mr X. Thought better of it as I didn't want things to get out of hand and me end up in the watch house. Rang reception and they guy came and told them to go to bed. Yes I also heard that conversation.
Overall, seems the main hotel is good (given the reviews), bars/food etc are good. Just avoid the motels unless you have ear plugs.
Def not worth $162 per night.

Good sized room, with lounge and dining/kitchenette
Couple of points to the negative being that there was a used towel still hanging on the back of the bathroom door and the main bed could be larger as there is space, double beds just don't make the grade anymore.
Overall, and despite the above negative points, this is a good spot to stay, and I'd stay again if in Invercargill

My only concern is a health and safety issue as the steps to car park are quite narrow.

This place was amazing!! Exceeded my expectations to say the least. Awesome room. Love the 24hr room service. Wonderful staff and great location would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!!

Big thanks to the gentleman who checked us in, Victor. Great service! Very friendly yet concise enough that it didn't slow us down. Gave us all the information we needed and the keys in about 4 minutes. Yet we didn't feel rushed. Very helpful ??'? also I need to make a special mention of the entire restaurant team! I know how hard it is to not only staff but run a decent dining venue during these strange times, but this team really held it together very well. Great food and even better service. You could see the team basically running to do their jobs yet we didn't feel rushed at all. Very knowledgeable matre'd who knew the wine list Very well, offering some great advice and matches. I highly recommend this hotel and all of its facilities. The team are doing a fantastic job and need to be commended for all their efforts. Don't forget to tip!!!!

After Google searching various hotels in Invercargill, Ascot Park Hotel seemed to be the best option and very reasonably priced. I wasn't sure what to expect, since I knew Invercargill was a small town and never been there before. Although the hotel is on the outskirts of the city, it's only a short drive to the city centre, and I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed. The hotel grounds are huge and well-suited to work conferences or functions. Parking was right outside our king bed room. The exterior of the hotel is very unassuming, but we were very impressed with a very large king bed room. Not sure if all the rooms in the hotel have been renovated, but we got, what looked like, a fairly newly renovated room and beautiful big modern tiled bathroom. So nice for a hotel room to have a renovated modern bathroom - makes all the difference. The bed was very comfortable, the room was warm and no problem with noise (although I did request a room away from the bar & reception area). Had dinner at Emberz bar/restaurant, which had basic bar type food but still good. The function room was huge and looked very impressive for a party or wedding and I saw the gym facilities too, which looked good. The reception staff were friendly. The highlight for us was when we ordered toffee pudding as room service - it was divine and probably the best one I've ever had! Highly recommend the hotel.

My room was beautiful, not sure it was a standard room as had two large beds in it. It was lovely and quiet and had access direct outside to my vehicle. Wow the Prawns at the restaurant were amazing! The chocolate tart melted in my mouth. I can highly recommend the Ascot.
